Hawkeyes Mic regular basketball expert Kenyon Murray was a four-year starter for the University of Iowa Men's Basketball team from 1992-1996. The Tom Davis coached Iowa teams he played on compiled a winning record of 79-44 and reached the NCAA tournament twice. Murray is third all-time in steals (200), the 14th all-time leading scorer (1230), 20th all-time in rebounding (550), and 13th all-time in blocked shots (63). He served as team captain during the 1993-1994 season, and he also served as President of the Student Athletic Advisory Board (1995-1996).
Murray played professional basketball for the 2005 Battle Creek Knights (Battle Creek, MI), the 1997-1998 New Wave Sharks (Gothenburg, Sweden), the 1996 Quad City Thunder (Davenport, IA), the 1996-1997 Magic City Snow Bears (Minot, ND), and the 1997 Sea Power Dragons (Hong Kong, China). He was team captain for both Magic City and the New Wave Sharks.
Murray has coached at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, IA, as Associate Head Basketball Coach (1999-2002), and with the Cedar Rapids River Raiders in the USBL (Cedar Rapids, IA) as Assistant Coach (2003-2004).
Kenyon currently works as a Territory Manager for Tulsa Dental Specialties and resides in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with his wife Michelle, their twin sons Kristopher and Keegan, and their daughter McKenna.
