Rob Patchett

Rob Patchett is the Hawkeyes Mic expert on all things "official" - sports rules and officiating. He is a regular contributor, commenting on officiating of games in general and specifically on controversial and unusal plays and calls.

Rob earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Studies with a history emphasis, and a Master's Degree in Recreational Sports Management - both from the University of Iowa. Rob discovered his passion for sports officiating in the Intramural Sports Program at the University of Iowa. He has officiated college and high school football, college and high school basketball, ASA softball, and in the Arena Football.League.

He is currently at Colorado State University where he serves as Assistant Director of Campus Recreation in charge of Intramural Sports. In that position, he spends much of his time hiring and training sports officials for all sports. He previously worked in a similar position at San Jose State University. Rob lives in Fort Collins, Colorado, with his wife Erin.
